Terms

The rules of using Baan Pinto, and what we are and are not responsible for. Written from how the app actually works.

1What Baan Pinto is

Baan Pinto is operated by Royal Chef Company Limited, registered in Thailand under business registration number 0745568000704, at 108/90, Mu 7, Khok Kham Sub-district, Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon Province.

It is a place where neighbours share home cooking and second-hand things with each other. We are not a restaurant, a shop, a delivery company or a payment service. We do not cook, sell, deliver, inspect or hold anything.

Using the app means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

2Who may use it

You must be 18 or older.

One account per person. Sign in with LINE or Google; whatever happens on your account is treated as done by you, so keep that sign-in to yourself.

Use your own name and your own photograph. An account pretending to be someone else will be closed.

3Neighbours, not sellers and customers

Every agreement here is between two neighbours. We introduce you and give you somewhere to talk; we are not a party to what you agree, and we do not guarantee anyone or anything on the app.

What a listing or a story says is said by the person who wrote it, not by us.

4Money

There is no payment gateway in this app and we never hold your money. The buyer transfers to the cook or seller directly by PromptPay, and the cook or seller confirms in the app that it arrived.

Because the transfer happens between your two banks, we cannot see it, stop it or reverse it. Refunds are a matter between the two of you.

A no-show is not refunded. If nobody comes to collect, the food was still made.

We take no commission today. If that ever changes we will say so before it does, not afterwards.

5Food

The person who cooks is responsible for the food: what is in it, how it is stored, how it is handed over, and following Thai food law.

We do not inspect kitchens and we do not check recipes. If somebody asks what is in a dish, answer honestly — allergies are the reason they are asking.

Do not sell alcohol, or anything that needs a licence you do not have.

6Second-hand things

Second-hand trading is face to face only. No shipping, no sending money ahead to a stranger, no couriers. Meeting in person is the point of it.

List only things you own and can hand over. Describe them as they are, including what is wrong with them.

What you may list is capped by your record: a new account is limited, and the cap rises as you complete trades with different neighbours and once a person has verified your photograph. The app shows you your own limit.

7What may not be listed

  • Anything illegal in Thailand.
  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives.
  • Drugs, medicines, medical devices, supplements.
  • Alcohol, tobacco, vapes.
  • Live animals.
  • Counterfeit goods, or anything copying another brand.
  • Adult material, or anything sexual.
  • Other people's property, or anything you cannot show you may sell.
  • Personal data, accounts, tickets or licences belonging to someone else.
  • Anything needing a licence, permit or registration you do not hold.

We may remove anything on this list without warning, and close the account behind it.

8Meeting in person

You decide whether to meet somebody, and where. Use the judgement you would use anywhere else: a public place, daylight, and tell someone where you are going.

Until an order exists, the app publishes only an approximate area, never an exact address. The exact meeting point is shown to the two people in that order and to nobody else.

We are not there at the handover and cannot make it safe. That responsibility is yours and the other person's.

9Verification and the badge

Verification is a photograph taken in the app now, which a person compares against the photograph on your profile. It checks that the face is the same. It is not proof of legal identity, and we collect no identity document.

The photograph you send is deleted once the decision is made. What remains is the date it was approved.

The badge is tied to the profile photograph it was approved against. Change that photograph and the badge comes off, and you can ask again.

A badge means one person looked and said yes. Treat it as one reason to trust somebody, not as a guarantee.

10Reviews and reputation

Both sides may review each other. A review stays hidden until both have written one, or until 48 hours have passed. That is deliberate: it stops people waiting to see what was said about them before saying anything.

A review cannot be edited or deleted afterwards, by you or by us, unless it breaks these rules.

Write about the trade and the other person's part in it. Nothing false, nothing abusive, nothing about anybody else, and nothing in exchange for a discount.

The temperature beside a name is worked out from completed trades, reviews and recorded no-shows. It is not an opinion we hold about anyone.

11What you post

Your photographs, videos and words stay yours. By posting them you allow us to show them inside the app to the people it is meant for, for as long as the post is up.

Post only what you have the right to post. Somebody else's photograph of somebody else's food is exactly what this app exists to make useless.

Do not post anything about another person that they have not agreed to — a face, a car, a house number, a screenshot of a conversation.

12Reporting, removal and suspension

Anything on the app can be reported. A person reads reports and can take a story or a listing down.

We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms, or that puts other people at risk, and we do not have to warn you first when the risk is immediate.

If we remove something of yours and you think we were wrong, write to us.

13Closing your account

You can delete your account in the app at any time, from the bottom of your own page.

Some things do not go with it. A review you wrote belongs to the neighbour it was about; a completed trade is part of their record as much as yours; somebody who joined through your invitation keeps that. Your name and photograph are removed from all of it.

What we keep, and for how long, is set out in the privacy notice.

14What we do not promise

The app is provided as it is. We cannot promise it is always available, always fast, or free of faults, and we may change or stop parts of it.

We do not check people, kitchens or objects in advance beyond what this page describes. Nothing here is a warranty about anybody you meet.

15Our responsibility

To the fullest extent Thai law allows, we are not responsible for what happens between two neighbours: the food, the object, the money, the meeting, or anything said in a conversation.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you, including as a consumer. Where the law says we are responsible for something, we are.

16Changes

These terms will change as the app changes. The date at the top says when they last did, and a material change is announced in the app before it takes effect.

17Law, and getting in touch

Thai law applies, and the courts of Thailand decide any dispute.

Write to hello@baanpinto.life. Tell us what happened first — most things are quicker to fix than to argue about.

Being settledA formal complaints and dispute route beyond this address is being set up.
